Commerce City, Colorado

Last updated October 15, 2026

Commerce City is expanding its Flock program while other cities cut ties: a Real Time Crime Center and "Drones as First Responders" program covering 25 or more plate readers and 11 pan-tilt-zoom cameras, growing to six drones. Police say the city owns its data and does not share outside Colorado or with federal agencies. ACLU of Colorado raised Fourth Amendment concerns about combining drones with plate readers.
