Douglas County

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners approved a roughly $22.8 million, 10-year Axon contract in mid-July 2026, replacing the Sheriff's Flock cameras with 100 Axon Outpost plate readers and a countywide drone network starting January 1, 2027. A sheriff's division chief told commissioners "with Flock, we do not own that data"; Flock's CEO disputes that. Leaving Flock here expands, rather than reduces, plate reading.
